From one to five DSE4200 Moisture Meters in two years
Robert Redman tested his first DSE4200 at the beginning of 2015. By 2017, he had equipped his five 6-string Bigbalers with our Moisture Meter.
Robert Redman - a contractor
Robert Redman runs a contracting company in Thame, Oxfordshire, in the UK. They offer a variety of fieldwork - among others, a lot of baling of straw and hay.
In 2013, Robert acquired his first big baler, and by now, he has an impressive fleet of 7 big balers, of which 2 are four string balers (80cm) and 5 of them are six strings balers (120cm)
A positive test of DSE4200
David Johnson from Big Bale North offered Robert a DSE4200 Moisture tester for testing at the beginning of 2015. The testing went very well because, by the end of 2017, Robert had equipped all his five 6-string balers with the DSE4200 Moisture Meter.
DSE4200 prolongs my day
Asked what the DSE4200 does for him, Robert replies:
”The DSE4200 allows us to get started – sometimes – up to 2 – 3 hours earlier in the morning and to go on in the evening for 2 – 3 hours longer than we usually could.“
“This increase of our baling capacity is a great benefit for us and means a world of difference from an economic perspective.”
The DSE4200 measures every 3 seconds, it makes very accurate measurements, meaning that you are in control of the straw or hay you are bailing, and you never experience any nasty surprises afterward. As it measures through the bale, you are never in doubt if the measurement is correct, which you sometimes can be when using a probe and accidentally measures in some green material in the bale.”
Works on straw, hay silage, and haylage
Robert Redman also uses the DSE4200 Moisture Meter when baling hay, silage, and haylage. He feels in control with highly accurate continuous readings every 3 seconds and can bale high-quality haylage within the desired moisture limits of 22% - 27%.
All in all - Robert Redman considers himself a delighted DSE4200 user.
